In 2007, several American governors were scrutinized for their ability to respond to open records requests--especially for copies of e-mails sent and received by gubernatorial staffs.  In some cases, such as that of Missouri Governor Matt Blunt and Texas Governor Rick Perry, e-mail destruction became an issue.  In the case of New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine, the question was whether he was legally required to release e-mails he sent and received from a lobbyist with whom he had had a romantic relationship. Document types exempted from public access in California.<br />State Salary Database<br /><span style="font-weight:bold;color:green;background-color:#cfc;">The Los Angeles DailyTimes published this study of LA city employees salaries: SOARING$ALARIES:ATWO-PARTSERIES, and offer thisdatabase of city employee pay.</span><br />SantaClaraCounty put together this pdf of all employees in the fiscal year 2007. The CityofSanJose offers this compensation chart for the year 2006. Both of these salary databases are covered by the SanJoseMercuryNews on September 5, 2007.<br />The Sun had some public employee salary information posted online for about a week, then they decided to pull it.
