Records request the work of GOP aide

In September 2007, it was reported that a request to Governor Ted Strickland for "hundreds of thousands of pages of state documents" came from a Republican party intern.

According to one report, "Gov. Ted Strickland suggested that the requests might have been politically motivated because Democratic officials received them, but Republican Auditor Mary Taylor did not."

Strickland also said, "We can find ourselves just absolutely bogged down in doing nothing but trying to respond to these requests, but we are trying to respond to them as best we can."

Other statewide officials also received the request, and one of them, state Treasurer Richard Cordray filled it.
